A former D1 athlete with a deep understanding of what it takes to excel, Tasheed Carr has dedicated over a decade of his life to empowering the youth of Philadelphia. With an academic background in Sociology and Psychology, he brings a unique perspective to coaching -- understanding that athletic excellence and personal growth are inseparable.
His journey from the courts of competitive college basketball to the community centers of Philadelphia drives his passion for building leaders. Through the Born Leader Family, Tasheed has created a platform where young athletes don't just improve their game -- they discover their potential as leaders, scholars, and role models.

Born and raised in North Philadelphia, Khadija started playing basketball at age 7 and fell in love with the game. After earning numerous awards throughout high school at University City, she received a full athletic scholarship to Temple University. Her college journey taught her a powerful lesson: it's "BIGGER than Basketball."
In April 2010, the murder of her brother Jamal rocked her world. When she returned to Philly after years in Florida, she vowed to serve her community and mentor youth. Since then, Khadija has started her own clothing brand, founded a non-profit organization, and organized numerous charity events focused on giving back and creating meaningful impact.
As an ovarian cancer survivor, her resilience has only deepened her belief in the power of community, support, and access to resources. With over 20 years of experience developing young people on and off the court, her work is shaped by lived experience.
